Use of OneDrive with RDSH applications?

Hi all,

 

I have a client that has some users who connect to their applications via Horizon RDSH apps.

They are using a file explorer app to see their files and folders.

They want to know if there is a way to be able to see their OneDrive folders in the folder structure.

Using the same app outside the RDSH setup works fine and, after signing in to their OneDrive a/c, they can see the OneDrive folders/files in the app.

I am trying to find out if:

a) it is supported to do that through RDSH app access

b) IF it is supported, how could I go about it.

 

I believe that OneDrive is only supported on Horizon VDI desktops as I cannot find anything related to RDSH app use (can anyone clarify that for me)?

I also tried, just in case, to install the OneDrive sync agent on an RDSH server but it doesn´t seem to be working.

 

Can anyone help me with this topic please?

selecting different audio out devices for Softphone / Jabber-Client in Horizon View

Hi,

 

I´ve some trouble to satisfy a user request. In fact this user will decide, if we turn our test envrionment to production ...

 

a key-requirement for our View-Windows-Desktops is, to support softphone; no problem, I thought because RTAV should work. And in fact: RTAV works!

 

But using RTAV allows to use only one audio out device - and the user wants to select via Cisco Jabber Client two different audio out devices:

 

Cisco Jabber Client offers the possibility to select three options for audio:

 

- speaker (1)

 

- microphone  (2)

 

- and warnings (3)

 

for (1) and (3) with RTAV I can only choose the VMware Virtual Audio (DevTap) device, (and for (2) of course VMware Virtual Microphone).

 

My question: can I select to different devices for audio out, so that the user can hear the softphone ringing (the warning sounds) via the pc-speaker and then, after he has picked up the phone the sound comes only from the headset?

 

I´ve also tried the Teradici Audio drivers - no success.

 

And even if I use USB-redirection for the headset, I can´t get it to work: either the sound comes ONLY from the headset or from the speakers. although in Cisco Jabber Client audio settings I can then select different devices for (1) and (3) by using USB-redirecton. ....

 

My recent idea is, to use a separate USB-Soundcard for the warning sounds. Has sombody tried this before ...?

 

 

we are using Horizon View 6.1.1 and View Clients 3.3 and 3.4 for Windows; Cisco Jabber Client 10.6.2; View Deskopts are WIN7 64 bit

Copy text between two different RDSH farms?

Hi all,

 

I have a problem where we have 2 different RDSH farms created for different applications (mainly because the client uses different versions of Office e.g. Free Office and Microsoft Office, and they didn´t want to install all versions on the same RDSH server).

When a user opens an RDSH app from the first farm, they can copy and paste text to any other app in the same farm (e.g. they copy text from notepad and paste into Chrome).

However they cannot copy and paste text to an application in the second farm (cannot copy from notepad on the first farm to Chrome in the second farm).

 

I have enabled a Smart Policy with "Enable All" for the clipboard however the behavior persists.

 

Does anyone know if this is supported and, if so, what am I missing/what should I check?

If it is supported I am assuming it is a simple configuration somewhere but I don´t know where.

 

Can anyone help?

Maintenance button missing from the properties of an RDSH Linked clone farm?

Hi all,

Horizon 7.10, Windows Server 2016.

 

I created an RDSH linked clone farm (due to license restraints I couldn´t create an Instant clone farm).

However when I click the farm, in the summary tab I do not see the "Maintenance" button as appears for Instant clone farms.

 

Is this by design?

Or is the option available elsewhere?

 

I ask because one night the RDSH servers in the farm restarted by themselves and I couldn´t find any error messages before the restart so I assumed they were restarted by a maintenance task.

However if indeed there are maintenance tasks running on the farm, where do I need to navigate/edit to see the options?

Running View Administrator in Chrome

Switching to Chrome and I am having issues running View Administrator.

 

1. I am getting Not Secure in the address bar

 

2. Once I logged in I allow the first Flash message, then a second one pops up and I have clicked Run Flash this time but it doesn't work.

 

 

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Not Sure How to Name This Title...

Have an issue that i'm not quite sure how to get by.  Here is my problem.

 

We have Folder redirection setup and has been for years in this environment.  Been using view but all wrong in my opinion but not sure how to get by it.  We currently have about 150 desktops but less that 60 concurrent users and are using View Composer instead of Linked Clones.  The reason we don't use LC's is because of the folder redirection and GPO's that get applied.  Because of those out login times are quite long (>60 sec).  I've tried everything i know (UEM, Master OPtimization, etc) with not much luck. The LC's we utilize take closer to 2 min to login since it has to create the profile each time.  If i was able to utilize LC's i can get my desktop count in half.  Is there a good way to utilize LC's while using folder redirection and roaming profiles??  Any help is appreciated.

Internal load balacing persistence for Connection Servers

Hi all,

does anyone has a guide for NSX-V to configure load balancing for Connection Server ? ( For Internal connections and gateways disabled). We can not use "Source IP" as persistence method because a NAT and we are unable to configure it with "Cookie JSSESSIONID" it asks for credentials twice.

PCoIP is ultra responsive but Blast is slow

Hi there,

 

I'm facing the following problem:

- If I connect to my guests using PCoIP it is ultra responsive and fast, both on WAN and LAN; I get 60fps when moving windows and scrolling and everything is super smooth

- But if I connect with Blast, it lags; the difference is quite noticeable; scrolling and moving windows "jumps"; VMware Performance Tracker shows 60fps but I can see it stuttering.

 

All my guests have Nvidia vGPUs. CPU usage is quite low with Blast. Clients also have Nvidia cards. Blast lags with both Nvidia Encoder or standard encoder.

Also I can see lag with all my Clients, WAN or LAN, with or without GPU offload, with or without UAG involved, JPEG or H264, HEVC or regular H264.

 

Any idea what can I do to troubleshoot and fix this?

Horizon View - Agent status "Disconnected"

When a user logs out, the status of their desktop in View administrator changes to "Disconnected."

If the user tries to log back in, they get an error message stating that there are no available desktops in the pool (since they are assigned only that one).

We have to manually reset/restart the VM in order for it to become available again.

i see that others have had this problem also but no solution to the problem provided.

 

 

Any tips and tricks here?

Server is running version 6.7, and agent version is on 7.8.0

Horizon View - Agent status "Disconnected"

I have a dedicated linked clone pool for about 50 users. The pool is set to refresh on logout. When a user logs out, the status of their desktop in View administrator changes to "Disconnected." The machine doesn't refresh itself, it just sits there in that state. If the user tries to log back in, they get an error message stating that there are no available desktops in the pool (since they are assigned only that one). I have to manually reset the VM in order for it to become available again. Has anyone run into this before?

Server is running version 6.1, and agent version is on 6.0.2

After Software Updates Via SCCM Some Persistent Desktops Go Agent Unreachable

We have a few hundred persistent full VMs in our Horizon View environment.  These are updated via SCCM as they are full persistent VMs.  Occasionally a few of them will get their updates, restart and then go agent unreachable.  The only way to get them back is to remove them from the desktop pool and re-add them to the pool then shut them down and let Horizon View configure them and then start them up.  Does anyone have any idea why this would happen?  Horizon View 7.8

Philips SpeechMike Audio In Issue (Win10)

Might be more of a Dell/Wyse question, but, wanted to see if anyone on these forums bumped into this.

 

In our environment we use the Wyse 5010 w/ PCoIP terminal as our standard endpoint. We are a Windows 7 shop on Horizon 7.3.2. We are able to get the SpeechMikes passed into the Horizon session, via splitting the vid/pid at the terminal level. This setup has worked for us for a few years now, no issue.

 

Recently we began developing a Win 10 image as well using Blast. Using the same terminal endpoint, signing into our Windows 10 image, Blast uses the mic just fine still. However, on PCoIP, no audio in is happening. We see the mi in device manager just fine, and audio OUT from the mic still works, just not audio in. The Philips control center client sees the device, it allows config of the buttons on the mic, all seems well, except audio in.

 

In a nutshell:

 

All from an identical endpoint:

Win 7 Blast - Mic fine

Win 7 PCoIP - Mic Fine

Windows 10 Blast - Mic Fine

Windows 10 PCoIP - Mic bad.

 

I tried installing the teradici audio driver in the base just to see if it made a difference, but, no luck.

 

I'm opening a ticket with Dell in parallel, but, any feedback here, I'd be happy to get.

How to add an additional reboot after joining to domain

A simple question on preparation of linked clones with quickprep.

When a clone reboots the last time and is joined to an AD domain, GPO policy will apply to this clone at the first time.

However, as GPO apply when most of services have already started, some GPO settings will require an additional reboot to become effective.

 

Is it possible to add an additionnal reboot in the preparation sequence after the computer is joined to the domain and received its GPO?

Linked Clone Desktop Pool - Moving Replica Datastore

HI everybody, we deployed a linked clone desktop pool with a separate LUN for the replica datastore, by mistake we selected the wrong datastore. Will the rebalance option work to perform the change ?  or a different procedure is required.

Horizon View 7.8 on Win 10 1903 agent fails to install on new template

I am attempting to build a new Windows 10 1903 Image to be used as a new VDI template.

however when installing the agent the install fails at starting services.

 

The installer states error 1920 verify permissions

event logs say blast service terminated with %%22204

 

This is a vanilla install of windows 10 no 3rd party security tools no patches applied yet, I was using Horizon 7.1 and saw that 1903 was not supported moved up to 7.8 same issue downloaded 7.11 and same issue. I reloaded new VM's for each version attempt still no joy.

 

I have verified that the dependency drivers HTTP and WinQuic are running. I am installing as local admin the system is not domain joined.

VMware View API - Get more than 1000 Users

Hello guys,

 

how do I manage to get more than 1000 users via the View API? Our system runs on version 7.7.0 build-11038474.

I use Powershell to access the API.

My code is the following:

If I don't use an offset I am stuck at 1000 results which is less than 10% of all users.

Increasing the Limit or MaxPageSize also doesn't do anything.

No sound on any Vmware View Desktops with PCOIP through client or html 5

Does anyone know what I can do to troubleshoot not having sound on any of the Virtual Desktops that  I am deploying in Vmware Horizon View 5.3. I have the Feature pack 1 installed and it is using the regular vmware virtual audio driver. It is using PCOIP.

Recompute virtual disk digest spam

I just arrived on a site running vCenter 6.7 Enterprise, They had deployed Horizon 7.1 Standard no composer install they pushed 20 Static dedicated desktops.

The Horizon Connection server failed and no longer exists. Yet I am getting thousands of Recompute virtual disk digest tasks that come so fast that is is basically scrolling in vCenter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Buena tarde comunidad,

   Tengo VMware vCenter Server 6 Standard, y  la caducidad de licencias es Nunca,  en los ESXi tengo VMware vSphere with Operations Management 6 Enterprise Plus for vSphere (CPU) y la caducidad de las licencias es Nunca, mi duda es que me piden que busque la renovacion de licenciamiento de vmware ya que el anterior adinistrador renovava licencias aludiendo que de no hacerlo el VMware vCenter y los host, pierden funcionalidad, a alguno le a ocurrido algo de este tipo?.

VMware Horizon View Client - Proxy Settings

Hi,

 

I am using VMware Horizon View Client version 3.4.0 build-2769709 and having issues with the proxy configuration.

 

Using Windows 7, does it use the pac file configured in Internet Explorer? If there is a proxy server configured, does it use it? I have settings by simply specifying the pac file and the connection to the server continually times out, however when manually specifying the proxy server, I am able to connect, however not every time.

 

This leads me to suggest, it does not support the use of a pac file. During testing the IT Support Team created a pac file that directed all traffic to the proxy regardless of rules and it still failed to connect to the server -simply timing out.

 

Can anyone shed some light on this and if there is a way round it by forcing it to use the specified pac file?
