Infrastructure and other pages give page cannot be found http 400 error after 7.5 upgrade

upgrade was problematic to start with.

services were not registered.

endpoints were not showing in vRA.

Found a solution for the endpoint problem, but was for a 7.3  upgrade with same issue.

Ran it anyway and that solved the endpoint problem and magically, the services were all registered again, as well.

However, after next reboot of appliance and host, now the infrastructure (and several other pages) are giving this error message...

The webpage cannot be found. http 400.

And on the business groups page, am getting a 404  html message at the top of the window and nothing else.

Network policies spins forever and shows a "System exception" message at the top of the window.

Horizon View 7.6 Customization timeout error

Hello,

 

Did anyone ever encounter the following issue: I see a lot of errors on Horizon View Console showing that Customization for the machine timeout and then the View is trying to recover it, deletes it and creates new machine and new machine appears to be fine. Also, it appears to me that the customization is taking a long time after upgrading to View 7.6 and actually this is when we started seeing those problems. When I look in the console the affected machine is showing that Windows is trying to repair it but then View deletes that machine and creates a new one. We have both NVidia enabled pools and non-Nvidia pools and it appears to be happening on both pools

 

Does anybody have any idea how to track down that issue and identify what might be the problem?

RTAV with View launched from cli with unattend

I am having an issue where if I use the GUI and launch the View client, log in to my server, connect to the desktop pool the USB webcam works just fine. However, if I try a shell launcher with unattended TRUE then the webcam does not connect.

 

Using Windows 10 1809 client with a custom shell launcher as described here: Shell Launcher | Microsoft Docs

Horizon View is 7.4

View Agent is on a Windows 2016 LTSB client device.

 

Any help would be appreciated

Google Drive File Stream Software

Hello.

 

I have a issue with Google Drive File Stream Software which has been installed on windows 10 instant clone pool.

 

I'm success to log in to the software with my Google credentials and yes, the G drive has been created but once I try to connect into my My Drive I get an error about that the drive unavailable.

 

This issue occur only on machine from instant clone pool but not on parent VM.

Certs on the UAGs

We are utilizing UAGs for external access into our Horizon environment. Have been for about a year and a half. The wildcard cert utilize in our environment is coming close to expiring, so we started the process to renew it/replace it where needed.

 

One part of our environment setup we've been unsure about, is the need for the wildcard cert (or whatever cert) you use out on your load balancer, and whether that same cert needs to be on the UAGs themselves. We've see inconsistent behavior when testing this, so, I'm just trying to find out if that's actually a needed step.

 

The brokers on our internal network all have their own certs from our on site CA. We then planned to swap out our wild card cert out on the load balancer, leaving the UAGs (between the LB and the brokers) with just their out of box self signed certs. Out on the load balancer today we are doing SSL bridging.

 

I'm also opening a ticket with support, but, wanted to see what the forums knew about this topic as well.

Version 4.10.0 not working on ipad

user name and password put in correctly as soon as it tries to connect I get   The session was disconnected. Lost connection to server. Does anybody know a fix to this. When I called support they said I needed  a license to report problems.

View Composer Server Upgrade

We are updating all of our servers to ver 2016 from 2K8 R2 and it time for the view Servers.  I have all the Connection Brokers done but no I need to do the Composer Server.  Might there be a KB out there to assist with this?  The database is on a different SQL server so i was just hoping it was as simple as adding one the new and removing the old but i kind of doubt it.  Anyone have any insight to this process?  Any help is appreciated.  Running Version 7.4.  Thanks

Horizon client (version 4.9.0 - 9539668) disconnect session will stop my visual studio

Hello there,

 

I am wondering if there is a setting will allow my vm(windows server 2012) continue to do automation work on visual studio after disconnected vm session. Every time I disconnect the session, it set the vm to either as a sleep (but its not) or no package sent, so my test will get interfered. I have already done power setting to never off and disable lock screen in local policy setting. Hope this make sense. Thanks

I have switched to using Fedora 29 Silverblue and Flatpak is the preferred GUI app install method. Please consider creating a Flatpak installation.

Horizon 7.5 Persona problem

After upgrading to Horizon View 7.5, we have some intermittent problems loading the roaming profile. If we downgrade to 7.4, this is not an issue.

We are using Windows 10 2016 LTSB on one 32 bit pool and one 6 4bit pool. We have this issue on both pools. Have anyone else had any issues like this?

Recomposing Issue

I seem to be having an issue recomposing and was curious where the issue might be.  Not sure if it points to the Horizon servers or the Vsphere hosts.    Lately when i try to recompose a Linked Clone pool it takes forever for the cloning process.  typically when i recompose it takes only a few minutes for the "cloning" process to show up in vcenter.  Now when i try to recompose a pool it takes well over an hour for that same process to show up.  I seem to have an issue but not sure where to look.  Horizon composer logs look OK. No errors.  Not sure where to start looking going forward.  Any assistance is appreciated.

View 6 Connects then immediately disconnects

I have a view 6 environment that has been operating for 3 years now (1 of which has been under my administration). Just last week, users could connect remotely (to security gateway), see their desktop pool and select it (static assignments/persistent disks). It begins to load the desktop, then immediately says server connection was lost. This environment has been stable for a long time and the certs have not expired. I have no idea why this happened and the logs on all servers involved don't show anything of value.

 

Firewall rules have not changed on edge FW or servers

No updates have been applied to any of the servers (MSFT or Vmware)

Servers are green in view admin page (Sec servers are red but that's due to self signed certs)

 

I know a lot of people point first to FW rules, I've triple checked the rules and the Windows FW's are disabled at the moment, yet the problem persists.

 

I get the same outcome if I try:

 

External >> Sec Gateway >> Connection Server

Internal >> Sec Gateway >> Connection Server

Internal >> Connection Server

 

I'm not extremely familiar with the view/horizon environment, but the KB's and discussions have not yielded any insight to my issue.

Cannot type on a IBM System i terminal emulator while using vmware remotely connecting to my win 7 office desktop.

several of the users have complained that when using VMware to log in from home they cannot use the keyboard while using an IBM System i (AS400) 5250 terminal emulator.

The users are using VMware 4.10. They can connect to the network and the keyboard does work there, but when they start an IBM terminal emulator, they lose the keyboard in that window. This would be very similar to the user's question who was having trouble using PUtty and losing the keyboard.

 

One of our users downloaded VMware 4.3, and reports he has the functionality of his keyboard restored.

 

I, myself, cannot reproduce this problem from home, I am strictly a Linux users at home. On my 2 home computers with Ubuntu 16.4 LTS, using VMware 4.10, I do not have those issues with the keyboard while running IBM terminal emulation.

 

Help would be appreciated. Is there a configuration item in 4.10? Is there a work-around? I don't want to tell my uses that they must all downgrade.

KMS Activating Office 2010, 2013 and 2016

I have had KMS setup and working for quite a while now, activating my office 2010 and 2013 pools (we have to keep 2010 on a certain pool for a particular app that works with it). I recently updated a couple of pools to office 2016 so i setup the KMS host to actovate 2016 also. All working well, or so i thought!

 

I now have discovered my 2010 pools are saying they are not activated and whatever i try i just can't get them to work with KMS. I can see on the KMS host that office 2010 is there:

But whenever i try and activate the count does not increase, it stays at 1 and on the client trying to activate it says the standard error about the count reorted by KMS is insufficient. However, when i run ospp.vbs /dstatusall i get an error saying the product key is not available. I have checked the registry and the keys are in place for the KMS server under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform.

So, i thought i'd quickly create a temp snapshot using a MAK key and recompose the pool, but users now get prompted to activate the key online and when they click to do so get told that this action requires admin privilieges.


Any ideas appreciated. KMS drives me to despair with office but i thought i had it all working. Are 2016 and 2010 not supported on the same KMS server? Do i need to reinstall the 2010 kms host.

Windows 10 USB Redirection Fails to work on login

We have Windows 10 and Windows 7 Desktops all running Horizon View Agent 7.4.0.  These are all instant clone desktops.  On first login the Windows 10 desktops usb redirection fails with the error USB redirection is not available for this desktop

 

If you then disconnect and reconnect after like 30 seconds of USB initializing (which is a long time compared to Windows 7) the USB devices will show up properly.

 

On  our Windows 7 desktops the USB redirection works properly every time and is much faster to initialize.

Hide RDSH C drive from published apps

Hi,

I am new to Published Apps and would like to know how to hide the server C drive from view whenever I try to save a file from my published app.

Can this possibly be done? I have already used the group policy on the server to hide the c: drive and d: drive from My Computer. But it's still visible when I click the save option in the app.

Appreciate to hear from anyone who have done this before. Thank you.
