We have virtualized our IT infrastructure (Server and Desktop) with Horizon view 7.0 Linked clone Desktops. Now we would like to give access some of the desktops to remote users through Internet.
What is the best way to implement it?
Should we implement Security Server or VPN connectivity?
If Security server is implemented, should we implement it in DMZ?
Is it good to implement Virtual Appliance than Security Server?

So I've successfully done 2FA with Radius and Connection server authentication in the past. I'm doing another one now with a different Radius solution which unlike previous ones requires the AD authentication first with Radius second. This is because upon successfuly AD authentication an SMS is sent to the authenticating user's phone with the OTP which they can then enter on the next prompt.
This basically means that sp-auth needs to be followed by radius-auth., but this doesn't seem possible:

Hey guys thought I'd update my clients to 4.5.0 but when I tested the silent install it installed great but it forced a reboot even with REBOOT=Reallysuppress switch.

We have two UAGs (3.0) in a HA environment in that they are behind a load balancer. The two connection servers are also behind a load balancer.
Only BLAST external is not working.
The client and PCoIP both work externally. Internally, all three protocols work fine as well. Externally, no BLAST. I'm baffled.
Firewall looks good. I get a screen that shows me my workstation, but it has a red bang across it. I'm stuck as to where to troubleshoot this.
I "think" my locked.properties file might be the issue. It looks like this:

balancedHost=dr.view.domain.org

Does that look right? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

We have started to use horizon 7.1 with persona management on w2016 desktop experience. Sometimes (mainly in morning) many users have the issue with login into virtual PC. They can see the status "Please Wait For The User Profile Service" for over 10mins and after this time I can see that the system created new profile (without reading of profile from fileserver where the user profiles are located) - f.e. profile is OST and in c:\users I see OST.domain. After one or two hours, sudenly, everything is OK and the login into system is in 10sec. Does somebody have any experiences with this problem? I read some articles about forefront or TrendMicro, but same behaiviour without these.

Does anyone else, while using Instant Clone desktop pools, notice that all the "cp-parent-#######" throw Virtual Machine Memory Usage warnings? It seems like in this environment every single parent will continuously sit at 85% - 95% memory usage. Which then triggers the alarm because they will remain in this state 24/7 based on what I have seen.

Disclaimer: I'm brand new to VMware and its ecosystem.
I've managed to install an ESXi host (version 6.5.0). I can connect to the host through a browser (both on desktop and in Android) and login to the UI presented there. I've spun up a VM and can confirm that all of that is working.
What I'd like to do is use the Horizon Client on Android to connect to this VM. Currently I'm just entering the IP address of the ESXi host. I've verified that the host is getting a connection from the Android device but I get an error message on Android:
Error: HTTP error 400
Please verify that Connection Server address and network settings are correct and try again.
I've seen this error in both version 3.1.0 and 4.2.1. As I said, I'm brand new to the VMware ecosystem so I imagine I'm massively oversimplifying what must be involved in getting this to work. Would I ever be able to connect with this setup? Do I need to install another VMware product between ESXi and the Horizon Client?

we have a weird 5 minute connection timeout problem in our new View 7.03 Environment (one connection server, one security server)
in the Pool we are using the Win7 View Desktops will be powered off if no one is connected (Remote Machine Power Policy is set to power off )
If the user connect to his view desktop ( through the view security server), the message "preparing the desktop" is shown, and then is takes exactly 5 minutes till the desktop will show to the user. That's not normal, because in view administrator the view agent of this desktop is available after approx. 1 minute .
if we change the Remote Machine Power Policy to "stay powered on" or "suspend"..we did't have that problem..so it is only a problem with the Win7 Desktops after booting..
We have checked our firewall rules for drops but we didnt find some.
Someone an idea what we should check or change?

I am working with VMware View Horizon 7 and Windows 10. During the process of me setting up the computers in vSphere, they are losing their Num/Caps Lock lights on the keyboard. I believe this is a setting in Windows or an update causing the issue. I just have not been able to determine which one. I was hoping that maybe someone else has ran into this and has thoughts or possible solutions for me. I have spent quite a bit of time on it already and getting close to calling MS.
For optimizations I ran the vmware optimization tool but did not choose everything.

I need to use the view cmdlet but each time i'm trying to launch the VMware View PowerCLI, i got the same error on both server.

What's the general view on the longevity of PCoIP as a display protocol?
I'm about to (reluctantly) refresh my trusty Wyse P20's and am looking at tera2 devices, but I hear whispers that, with the introduction of Blast, there may not be not much life left in PCoIP. The vendor I was talking to quoted 2021 as a potential date for end of support. Now, coming from a vendor, i'm suspicious of this but I don't want to go out and buy a load of PCoIP tera2 devices if VMware are going to push Blast and we run into issues with a load of unsupported devices. I will start looking for devices that support both protocols if possible, but I was just trying to get a general opinion about PCoIP vs Blast - and whether other people are going to be ditching PCoIP clients in favor of Blast devices.

Has anyone ran across an issue with View 5 desktops where the user gets a screen stuck at "The view connection server is preparing the desktop." when their VM is resuming from a suspended power state? We have also noticed the occasional "Cannot complete operation because VMware Tools is not running in this virtual machine." error in the vSphere console. All indications are that VMtools is fine and we are running the latest version of tools. We are also running ESXi 5.0.
Also this issue is random and difficult to re-create.

In VMWare Horizon View Administrator we are currently seeing events being logged continuously relating to vCenter at address being temporarily disabled and almost immediately afterward vCenter at address is enabled.

I can find little about these events other than they exist from the documentation library. Are they related to an account problem? If anyone can advise.

In the same pool - After a recompose, the search menu does not work on some machines and on others it works.
If the master image is the same for all the machines, why would the results be different?
On one machine, a second recompose fixed the issue, but on others, nothing works.

I recently enabled a SAML authenticator as part of Workspace ONE integration on my connection servers. We noticed that the ws_TomcatService was running upto 100% cpu and memory and crashing the broker after about a week. The service acts the same way on both of the connection servers (primary and replica)
If I disable the SAML authenticator, the issue goes away.
Does anybody have any ideas? I would like to get this resolved soon.

Since my Windows 10 upgrade several months back, my VMware Horizon client doesn't recognize my shift key, control key nor mouse wheel. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and have spent hours scouring the internet for anyone experiencing a similar issue. To date, I've found nothing... so I'm hoping one of you can help me find the secret setting I'm missing...
I'm running 4.5.0 build-5615124 on Windows 10 Home 64bit on a Dell XPS with an i7-2.2Ghz running 8Gb RAM.
I've tried switching between multiple keyboards and mice; but currently am using a Microsoft wireless set.
I'll take any tips you've got... Horizon is all-but useless to me without the Control and Shift keys.

I have a windows 10 system image backup of my old computer AI took before it crashed. It is in VHD format. I wanted to restore this recovery image so that the pc is the way it was before I did a fresh install.(I have many reasons for this.)
I went down the internet rabbit hole and essentially was guided to create a VM in which I was going to restore said image (Roughly 250gb.)
I downloaded vmware workstation and from what I can tell I ran into 2 issues. (1) It needs me to install windows 10 on it. (2) it wont accept a vhd file as an image. Seemed to strictly want an iso.
I went into the vmware site and got a trial for horizon. There was a document on the vmware site that essentially said I can load a vhd file using horizon.
This vhd file is on an external drive.
So... perhaps to simplify.
HOW DO I LOAD A VHD OF A WINDOWS 10 FULL SYSTEM BACKUP THAT IS 250GB IN SIZE INTO A VM?

We have had an intermittent issue with persona profiles syncing over the last 2 weeks.
When User login in system, View PM creates a temporary user profile. In Windows Logs error «profile is corrupted».If I create a new profile, the error also appears.
