Users at a remote site ( a location that is not on our domain) are having a problem with local printers not showing up in VMware View. They have windows 7 64 computers with the VMware View client installed. We do not have this issue with any of or remote locations. At a loss do not know what to try next.

Error with linked clone View Pool
i have an environment that has been upgraded from View 6.0.2 to 7. As part of this upgrade a separate View Composer server has been created and linked to the vCenter and shows as Green in the dashboard. When I have created a new linked clone pool it has saved my settings, however I cannot enable provisioning for the pool, I just get an Error 'Provisioning was not enabled on all desktop pools due to an error' but I cannot see any details for the error. If I click to show details I just get 'Failed to enable provisioning for pool <Pool Name>' which doesn't give much detail! I have noticed that when I edit this pool an error box pops up with 'Server Error' as the heading and it just displays 'Unknown' in the details. Editing a non linked clone does not give this error. As a test I started to create a new linked clone pool and got as far as the Advanced Storage Settings when the error box popped up. Looking at the logs on the Connection Server I can see the following error being logged:
UnexpectedFault: Cannot look up datacenter from Virtual Center. If the Desktop's Virtual Center has provisioning disabled it must be re-enabled to retrieve this information
Does anybody have any pointers on how to solve this please?
Windows 10 Support in Horizon View

Cannot change Remote Desktop-Protocol
Hello,
the system:
Windows 2012R2
VMware vSphere 5.5.0, 3116895
VMware vCenter 5.5.0.30200 Build 3255668
VMware View 6.2.0 build-3005368
Affected Pool: Automatic Linked Clone Pool
I accidentally misconfigured a desktop pool. I selected the 3D-Renderer "NVIDIA GRID VGPU" and saved it.
The section "remote desktop protocol" was greyed out afterwards.
It is still possible with the VMware powercli to update the protocol from PCOIP to RDP and reverse.
But after the pool update the options are still greyed out.
Is there a way to change / update the 3D-Renderer from "NVIDIA GRID VGPU" to "AUTOMATIC".
Does anyone knows a solution?
As far as i know there is no powerCLI command to change the "3D-Renderer" option.
Thank you very much!

Hanging Application prevents Win7 64 Bit from Shutdown/Reboot and View Agent already terminated by the OS
Dear all
We have ViewAgent 5.3 installed on our virtual Desktops, which is necessary to connect from View Client. Now sometimes a Windows application hangs on OS shutdown/reboot request. Because on requesting a reboot/shutdown Windows send a terminate Signal to all processes it can happen that the View Agent is already stopped when the Application hanging dialog appears on the users Desktop. The virtual Desktop will not shutdown or reboot because there is still the open Dialog asking the user to force the Termination of the application. The ViewAgent is already stopped, so the user can not reconnect to his virtual desktop
How can I make sure that ViewAgent is one of the last processes terminated by Windows, so the can at least see a application hanging Dialog? At the Moment the only Workaround is to connect to the VM console at confirm the application hanging Dialog manually. I could also use "HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\AutoEndTask=1" but this Forces the Termination of applications with unsaved documents as well. So I would rather priorize the Termination of the processes during shutdown and would priorize the ViewAgent as lowest.
Any ideas how to achieve this?
Any help appreciated!

Fixing Errors with Viewdbchk
Just curious if it's possible to fix errors in View pools via VIEWDBCHK without disabling the pool? We are a 24/7 shop and have a hard time getting a windows to run the repair. Any thoughts??
Thinapp IE11 and .NET ClickOnce
Hi all,
I've found a strange running with an IE11 Thinapp package and I want to share my experience.
When I click on a ClickOnce button using my IE11 package, I have an informational message telling me that a download is starting, but nothing else append: even I wait for a long time no popup windows appears.
After searches, I saw that ClickOnce button try to launch a process named DFSVC.EXE for 15mn when a click on ClickOnce bbutton is made. Effectively, if I check in taskmanager, I can see this process, but for a short time (1s or less).
When I try to launch this process in the virtual environment, I have an error message; if I launch this process in the physical environment and then click on ClickOnce button, all is running perfectly: my .NET application can be used.
After a long internal brainstorm, I found the solution below:
in package.ini file, add this line
ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions=DFSVC.EXE
According to the Thinapp packager version, maybe it's necessary to add also this line
ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault=Virtual
So, I hope this post can help someone.
Retain Persona user settings
Hi how do you configure Persona to retain user settings in Windows 8.1/10?
We exclude Local and Local Low and Dropbox files
We experienced we need to except Appsfolder files to retain start menu
Do we need to retain UsrClass.dat as well?
We have seen in Event Viewer after a while that the UsrClass.dat is damaged or something with permissions.

--preventProtocolOverride
Hello
I am using 6.0.1 and therefore the POD configuration is done via lmvutil.cmd
When creating my desktop pools I setup the Global entitlements with the --preventProtocolOverride switch (Which prevents the user choosing which protocol RDP/PCoip)
And also set the default protocol by using the --defaultProtocol PCOIP switch.
My problem is I now have many people logged in to those pools and I need to reverse the config to allow people to choose RDP in some scenarios.
I understand there is a --updateGlobalEntitlement switch which I have used for other reasons but the switches are not there to reverse the config i have set.
I'd like to avoid deleting the global entitlements and having to do them again - - do I have another option ?
By the way... Direct entitlements to the pool do allow choice in protocol. it is just the Global entitlement that needs changing.
Help me out
BLAST not working
Hi all,
We'd like to upgrade the View Agents on our VMs by using the following View Agent builds which according to VMware are supported during the upgrade:
VMware-viewagent-x86_64-6.2.2-3508800
VMware-viewagent-6.2.2-3526061
All works fine with these agents however HTML Access/Blast doesn't.
The browser will throw the following error message after selecting a desktop to connect to: (while other desktops with old agents work fine)
ERR:p:bad method / HTTP 405 Method not allowed
Thanks,
James.

Is Windows 10 pool supported on Vcenter 5.1 U2 and ESXi host 5.1 U3?
I have created a Golden Image for Windows 10 on my prod environment currently running Vcenter 5.1 U2 and ESXi host 5.1 U3. My View environment is running View 5.3. When I create a pool either be linked clone or full clone keeps getting stuck at customization and eventually fails with error timed out pairing. As any one ran into this issue or i'm just trying to do something that is not yet supported on the backend versions of VC and ESXi that I am running. If someone can verify this would be greatly appreciate it before I call VMware support. Thank you all in advance.
Client redirection not working with Mac or Windows Horizon client
Horizon View Version 7
Windows Horizon client Version 7.0.0-3634043
Mac Horizon client version 4.0.1 3708485
Linked clones running Win 8.1
In both the Mac and Windows clients I cannot see shared drives from the local client. I select the drives to share from the client but cannot see them from a View linked clone desktop. I have also tested from a thick View desktop that I reinstalled the agent on to make sure client drive redirection was enabled but have the same problem. Once logged into the View desktop I cannot find the shared drives from the client.
Not sure what I am missing any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Windows 10 Pool Disconnects and Guess OS Crash
Have a windows 10 linked-clone floating desktop pool that is experiencing frequent disconnects on dell wyse zero clients (p25 and p45). When the disconnect happens the guess OS crashes, resets, and registers the event in vsphere. VM is then placed in an already used state in View.
This is the only error in the PCOIP log I can find.

Anyone else run into issues with Win10 crashing in a VDI environment.
VDI client stops during recompose process
Hello
We have quite a few VDI pools and therefore a lot of VMs (Windows 7 Enterprise x64) running on it (Horizon View 6.1 on vSphere 5.5 Update 2d). We recognised that some VMs not properly finishes the recompose process and it happens completely random (most of the time there were only 1 up to 5 VMs affected from these effect). There are no related errors shown in the log files and the event viewer on the VDI machines also does not contain any information. When I compare the log files and the task history, it seems that everything is working properly. The result is a shut down VM with status "Agent unreachable" and some warning entries in the View Administrator event log about users who tries to login on the VM but fails.
One error that I found was about an unexpected exception and the IP address cache on the VM itself:
2016-06-02T16:03:33.171+02:00 ERROR (0620-0894) <TopicMessageManager-agent> [AbstractJmsConnectionUser] Hit an unexpected exception, requesting clean reconnect

The VM get cloned from the master image and after this process some reconfiguration tasks take place. The only strange thing during the recompose is, that the VM tries to join the active directory but fails about 1-3 times before it successfully completes this task:

When I check the VM in the vCenter Server console the VM is shut down and has no IP address assigned to it but a vmxnet3 adapter is still configured. If I manually power on the VM, an IP address gets assigned to it and the reconfigure process finishes successfully. After a reboot the VM becomes available to the VDI pool and the error message in the View Administrator event database disappears. But why is there a problem for the VM to get an IP address? We checked the DHCP server but there is also no problem and we also have more than enough IP address for the VDI pool. I also tried the https://kb.vmware.com/kb/2007319 but the problem still exists and it happens randomly on quite a few VMs.
Had someone the same issue?
Kind regards,
Ybbom
help with Horizon View design
Hello
Hoping for a little help from the community, in designing af Horizon View solution, as I am fairly new to VDI
let me list the requirements and thought on this deployment
- Horizon View 7.0
- A quite small VDI deployment with around 50 dekstops running Windows 10 - mostly as a non-persistent pool
- User profiles handled using View Persona
- users are to use Microsoft Skype for Business voice/video on desktops
- 2 host ESXi cluster for VDI. both with Nvidia GRID for use as vSGA (separate cluster exist for infrastructure/management)
- TrendMicro Deep Security as hypervisor-based AV
- PernixData FVP for read/write acceleration of VMs using memory in hosts
- underlying storage is HP StoreVirtual connected via software iSCSI initiator in ESXi
I know this is fairly high-level info, but I would like to hear if anyone can tell if I should get any issues running this environment, as related to hardware/infrastructure? or have any recommandations to changes?
thanks...
