I am trying to setup Horizon 7 in my lab environment. I am currently trying to deploy an Instant Clone desktop pool.
When I reach the vCenter settings section and am trying to select a host/cluster I get the error message "Standalone hosts can not be selected for Instant Pool"
I only have 1 host at the moment in my lab setup. Is there any way to bypass this error and deploy an Instant Pool on a single host setup?

I have recently downloaded the latest version of View 7, when I was configuring servers, I couldn't add the vCenter, I have an error that says "possibly an invalid vcenter server certificate. please verify the identity of the associated vcenter server", I have changed certificates in my vCenter 5.5 appliance, when I connect to the webcleint, I have no certificate error.
I use an AD certificate authority and the certificate key size is 2048.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am running the OS X view client 3.5.0 on OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 in a dual monitor setup. I use the option of "Displays have separate Spaces" and prefer to use the view client full-screen. However, I do not like the behavior in which it creates a full-screen space on **both** monitors (I prefer to have a single space on the second monitor, which I can, for example, use to permanently keep the Mac Exchange application visible, regardless of the space I am using on my primary monitor). Thus I would prefer, when taking the view client full-screen, that it would **only** create a space on my primary monitor.
Is there any way to prevent it from creating a space on the second monitor?
I am using View 6.1 with Composer and VCenter 6.0 ( VDI Dedicated VCenter)
As we plan upgrades, I am looking at redundancy. Id like to have a redundant View VCenter set up. In case our Vcenter or composer go down, a way to switch to a waiting back up scenario. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions?

We are running View 6.1.1 with Windows 7 linked clone desktops. Lately some desktops hang in the "Agent Unreachable" state for what seems like 15 or 20 minutes before they get refreshed. We have the pools set to logoff and refresh after 1 minute if disconnected. We noticed that the desktops in this odd state have an apipa address for the virtual NIC (starts with 169.254.x.x). If we go into the desktop as the local admin and do an ipconfig /renew it will get a valid IP on our network and as soon as it gets a valid IP it leaves the "Agent Unreachable" queue and goes through the refresh process. It seems the other way we can get these desktops to process quicker is to delete them.
This isn't isolated to VM's on a particular ESXi host (i've seen it happen on all the hosts) and when I look at the network settings for the ESXi hosts I can see that the VMs in question are attached to the virtual switch. I made sure the virtual switch has enough ports (120) and I checked the DHCP server(s) and there are plenty of available IPs in the subnet where the virtual desktops live.
It also doesn't seem to be isolated to one pool, we are seeing it in a pool that uses Persona Management and a pool that does not.
Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

we have environment with dedicated pool " users profile redirected to persistent disk", we have persona profiles with that. When a user try to log in a pool with non persistent disk, the windows explorer stopped working. does anybody know the reason for that.

Not sure if this is just Horizon 4 client, I was asked to upgrade to fix a Proxy PAC issue where v3 was ignoring some PAC file settings, however it seems Horizon 4 client is using case sensitivity when matching rules defined in the PROXY PAC file.
So if I have a host or domain in the PAC file in uppercase and in the Horizon client I add a server in lowercase, it will not match the rule and does what it wants...

Next problem I'm having is after we upgraded to View 5.3, ESXi 5.5, and vCenter 5.5 I'm seeing desktops get stuck, and the only resolution is to reboot the ESXi host. This has happened to us 4 times in the past month, and the ESXi servers usually won't reboot on their own, so we usually have to manually reset the server.
We've also tried using the "esxcli vm process kill" command to shutdown the desktops with no luck. These stuck desktops are not accessible either, does not show an IP address, VM tools isn't running, and nothing shows up in the console window.
VMware sent me this: "The PR regarding the Power Off is currently open with no updated information. One of the steps taken was to increase the RAM on the Connection Server and reinstall the Connection Server. There is no additional next steps after this first action item."
Our Connection Servers have 4vCPU and 10GB RAM, so I doubt that is the problem.
I have both a Windows and Mac computer with the current versions of Horizon View Client and up to date operating systems and updates. My employer requires me to use Jupiter Pulse to connect the VPN. The Jupiter Pulse connects just fine on all machines. However, the Horizon View Client will not connect on any machine when trying through my home network which is set up via an Apple Airport Extreme. I have the problem with both wifi and a cable. However, Horizon client connects just fine on all machines when using my iPhone personal hotspot or non-Apple wifi.
Any ideas?
When I go to the View server today to recompose, I go into the linked clone pool settings, Vcenter Settings, and it asks for the default snapshot. Nothing shows up and the error message:
Error getting snapshot information for the machine with ID {master image name} and "server error" messages show up. I cannot recompose or create new vms.

Does anyone have Blast Extreme working with physical desktops which have a GPU?
The issue we're seeing is that, when remoting into a physical desktop which has a dedicated GPU (a nVidia GTX970, in this case), you just get a black screen. It never times out, just stays black forever. If you disable the video card in device manager, you can remote in just fine, using Blast Extreme. Obviously, we can't just disable the GPUs on all the desktops.
This occurs across 300+ workstations running with all sorts of different hardware.

I Know that exist some issue with this, new versions appears but don't solve this problem.

i have installed a horizon view infrastructure with connection server and agent version 6.0.1 . everything was working well till i create some new pool for our developers . they are using Oracle tools and etc . we have more than 200 client in these pools , but about 10 percent of them get black screen randomly . i search too much and tried many things from timeouts , VGA , Firewall , ... but nothing works for me . then i started to focus on specific user and i got these :
1- if user start his desktop and work with normal apps , nothing happens . if he disconnect his session , he can get back and works again .
2- if user open Plsql ( or some similar apps ) and the apps crashes , if he disconnect the session and come back again , will get black screen . even if i End Task that crashed application , the same thing happens ! but if i logoff the session , no problem happens for next login !
3- in situation 2 , i can connect to that desktop with simple rdp ! and the system works fine . but i can not sign out that user with task manager !
so it seem that some situation make pcoip crashes . but even restating services or processes not worked for me . i have to restart that system ( it takes too long !) . one of my friend have the same problem with other versions . sometimes , when user disconnect the session , he cannot come back because of blank screen .
it is so painful for me . please help

One of my clients requires to have Onedrive for Business in a View environment with linked clones. I read about the Onedrive for Business sync client and apparently you can not specify/change the location of the download location.
The customer demands that the Onedrive for Business client is installed and will sync/download the content from Onedrive, but in a linked clone environment this might mean that the sync client will download all content of Onedrive each time a user logs on to a dekstop, which we obviously do not want.
I told the customer that he potentially will have to store 1 TB of data per user in his datacenter, meaning he will need a lot of SAN space, but the customer does not care about this.
Does anybody have any experience with the Onedrive for business sync client in a Linked clone View environment and how to best set this up?

We do not see these error messages for all of our users, only those from certain pools that are external connections.

I had installed Horizon View 7 to test Instant Clone.
It works in our test environment , but i didnt have enough resources so i installed new hosts and a new vcenter (all the same version)
I changed vcenter in the view administrator en I want to build a new pool, now i get this error:
Error during provisioning: Initial publish failed: Fault type is INVAlID_CONFIGURATION_FATAL - Specified Host: host-16 has no accessible datastores in the input
I use SSD (VMFS5).

Is HA Proxy works fine with View 5.3 and 6.x ? Is Kemp free or Zen Community would be good enough for 600 users ?

I have been testing multiple WPF applications with vSGA, vGPU, and software only virtual machines and have run into poor performance when it comes to the vmware vSGA drivers.
In WPF there is a grid function that displays a grid of information, scrolling around this grid is painful at best when using a vm with vmware's vSGA drivers. This is an example of a demo WPF application that displays the poor performance when scrolling up and down the grid on the left hand side.
Has anyone else run into any issues with this?
My assumption is that the poor performance is due to vmware's inability to utilize anything above directx 9, is that correct?
The software only VM actually performs better than the vSGA VM which is what leads me to believe it is a driver related issue. The vGPU VM performs as good as a physical machine, as expected.
