I am connected to my horizon view desktop but after a while the machine freezes. IT still shows the background in windows but after a few secs, it responds with black screen and then a locked screen.
why is the desktop freezing during this time?

Customization Operation Times Out
I've had this issue for a minute now and I am starting to think I have an issue with versions. My Connection Server is 6.0.1 and my View Agent is 6.0.2; would this cause the issues with the computer name not being applied and the Customization status timing out?

Max concurrent operation in relation to # of datastores
Vcenter 5.1 / Separate Composer 5.2 / View 5.2 - all with VMWare recommended hardware configurations. 30TB XtremIO SSD with compression and de-duplication. Carving out new datastores and taking in consideration the View design of 1 pool replica per datastore. Are 8 datastores necessary to take advantage of the default max concurrent composer operations within View (8)? Anything less or more would be a disadvantage in regards to linked clones?

Get hostcard information via powercli
Hello,
is it possible to get information about the teradici hostcard from view via powercli? (at least IP and mac, maybe even last connected Zeroclient )
Together with the information about the assigned user this would give the option to create a complete inventory
But I did not find yet the place where this information is stored

View Server and Agent Issue
I have just installed View Standard Connection Server 6.1.0 build-2509221 on a Windows 2012 R2 server. The Windows 2012 R2 server is running as a virtual machine on ESXi 5.5.0. Additionally, I just installed the View Agent version 6.1.0 64 bit on a Windows 7 workstation that is also running on the same ESXi host. The View Server is licensed for desktop and application remoting. I want to use the Windows 7 virtual machine as an unmanaged machine as I am not running vcenter. The problem I am having is the Windows 7 machine that has the View Agent installed is not showing up in when I try to add a manual desktop pool in the View Connection server administration. Any ideas why the workstation is not showing up as a valid machine to be added to the manual desktop pool? Please help.

What VMware Horizon View PowerCLI features you like to see?
PowerCLI 6.0 R1 is released with some cool new features. One thing I missed in this announcement is the improvement of PowerCLI support for VMware Horizon View. The latest release of VMware Horizon View 6.1 still has NO PowerCLI improvements! This is a huge bummer because PowerCLI is very limited in VMware Horizon View. We must provide feature request feedback to the PowerCLI team to possible improve PowerCLI for VMware Horizon View! So I'm bundling all the feature requests and forward them the PowerCLI team. I hope to see some of the feature requests in the next release of PowerCLI for VMware Horizon View. I you have feature request please let me know!

Display black when zoom size max virtual computer after connect to VDI
Hi everyone !
I have VDI system run VMware View 5.3
Server Conection have IP: 10.1.1.12
Virtual computer install View Agent in ESXi have IP: 10.1.1.104
I used my computer have IP: 10.1.1.105 run VMview Client connect to virtual computer in ESXi.
But, If I click maximize zoom full monitor then display black. I don't user virtual computer.
If I zoom min, zoom min then display well.
So, Can you help me fix error this ?

VMWare Horizon Client won't launch
I have the Horizon Client version 3.3 installed on my Windows 8.1 computer. We use roaming profiles and folder redirection. Everything was working find up until last week the client stop working. If I click on the icon to launch the client, nothing happens. I see a task for VMware Horizon Client in task manager but the client doesn't open.
I already tried deleting the user profile and starting fresh but same thing happens. The client does work with another user account so the problem is obviously a user related issue.
Has anyone run into this kind of problem?

User defined custom Windows theme is not saved during roaming profile syncronization
Hi,
We are using VMware View 5.3 and are using non-persistent floating pools,
We have Windows 8.1 desktops in a 2012 domain. The user profiles is roamed to a file server during logon and logoff. (Because we use View 5.3.3 we cannot use persona management for Windows 8.1).
We have excluded most folders under appdata\roaming and appdata\local and was also excluding \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes, but included this folder again in the roaming profile when trying to fix this issue.
Our problem is that the users is saving a custom Windows theme, but when logging out and in again the settings is still there, but after a while the custom color settings is set back to Windows defaults.
Therefore most of the settings under Local appdata and all localow appdata files and configurations is reset at logoff for users.
What is the required files/folders/registry keys to fully support custom Windows themes ? If we have that info we can include the necessary files in our user enviroment.
We have not found any userful info on the web for this specific issue and hope somebody can get us in the right direction.

K2 grid and vDGA settings
Hi,
We have a demo environment with Horizon View 6.0.1 and 2 ESxi hosts one with Grid K1 and Grid K2.
I have gotten the Grid cards to work, but I have some issues, or configuration questions.
On the vm that we want to use for vDGA im not sure what to have configured under Video Card, the only thing that is working is like the image below.
But here is a strange problem. If I configure the VM as the image, and then starts the vm right away, it works fine. If i wait 10-20 seconds before i start the VM or ig I shutdown the VM and starts it again, it fails with the following error
If I then check the settings of the VM I can see that it has changed it to the following automatically
So my questions is what am I doing wrong ? Also what about the memory 512, should it be another setting on this ?
Im new to vDGA and vSGA so still learning.

recompute virtual disk digest been running 13+ hours
i have aprox 12 tasks that have been running for 12 + hours "recompute virtual disk digest" - from what i know these are storage accelerator tasks that run routinely and have to do with vmware view . is there any way to kill them? why are they taking so long to complete . currently at 50% - been running for 12 + hours.
subsequently i can see new tasks of the same run and complete within seconds.
can anyone tell me why these particular jobs are running for so long? what could be causing it?

Composing Linked Clone wrong replica folder
Hey there,
I'm running View 6.0.
I am creating a Linked Clone pool. When it goes to make the pool, the VMs get created fine, but they fail powering on with:
File Not Found: File /vmfs/volumes/ca1a9f57-4f3c6e24/LinkWin8-001/replica-8ae976ab-420b-4aba-a0ea-02e4b26ab040.vmdk was not found
What I don't get is why is it looking for the replica vmdk inside the VM folder not the replica folder? The replica folder is created and is visible in vCenter. and the files for the VM are in the replica folder in the datastore.
Let me know if any log files are needed.
Any ideas will be most helpful.

View Composer Settings
Greetings everyone
I would like to create a linked clones pool so I am trying to configure View Composer by typing in the domain user I created with the privileges listed in the manual. However my problem is that once I edit the vCenter server in View Administrator and enable View Composer, the View Manager connects to vCenter server but the Add button that I'm supposed to click to type the domain info is greyed out and I found no way to "enable" it. Any suggestion?

Problem configuring nvidia grid k2
Hi,
We are setting up a system with vDGA using nvidia grid k2, but have some issues.
We have one host (Fujitsu Primergy RX2540 M1) with that card, and that esxi host ir unning the following version
View 6.0.1 build-2088845
This information is displayed within vCenter
ESXi 5.5.0 2143827
If i connecto to the ESXi "web" site it says the following version:
You are running Fujitsu Customized Image v320-1 (based on ESXi 5.5 Update 2 VMKernel Release Build 2068190)
We have checked the bios that VT-d is enabled, and if we do a "lspci" on the esxi host we get

0000:05:00.0 Display controller: nVidia Corporation GK104GL [GRID K2]
We do not have a module called "vtddmar", im not sure if this is a problem ?
Since we are going to use this as vDGA we dont need to install the nvidia driver for ESXi i guess.
When i check under ESXi host>Manage>PCI Devices I have enabled both GPUs and restarted the host, the status is then "This device is available for VMs to use"
Have added the following to the vm vmx file: pciHole.start = "2048" since the VM has more than 2GB of memory, have added this to the bottom of the vmx file.
When we now try to start the VM we get the error message as seen in the image below, so my question is am i doing something wrong? Or is my hardware and ESXi versions not compatible ?

Vmware view black screen
Hi,
We have setup a demo solution for vmware view 5.3, and it works ok, but not for me. When i try my laptop other places it works ok with PCoIP, but from my home network it gives me the original back screen problem.
There is no firewall on the laptop, and i have a Zyxel P-870H-53A V2 router, and it seems that this router block PCoIP, since if i try RDP it works.
I have talked to my ISP, but they did not know any thing about this, so no help there.
I thought that there should not be any thing I should open from the client siden, since it initiates the request and will habe 4172 UDP reply package back. The interface on the router is pretty basic, and i have not configured any firewall on the router... any suggestions ?

Outlook 2013 search and non-peristent pools

Windows search indexing service is disabled, but we are considering turning it on to get better Outlook 2013 search.
But how will Outlook/Windows search indexing behave with roaming profiles and refresh at logoff? Will the metadata indexing files be saved in appdata(roaming profiles) or is it saved locally on the computer? If its only saved locally then the Outlook 2013 indexing is reset after each logoff and this will not work in practise.
There is also some changes in Outlook indexing between 2010 and 2013 version.

View 6.0.1 Persona/DFS repository issues (profile data lost)
I'm having some issues with Persona saving profiles on a DFS share.
We're running View 6.0.1 with floating linked-clones and Persona for profile management. The repository for the profiles lies on a DFS share.
Sometimes after users log off, all that's saved to their profile folder (username.V2) is a hidden folder with a name similiar to {d24f2895-651a-40cc-8e5c-c037b9994104} and inside that is a {d24f2895-651a-40cc-8e5c-c037b9994104}.db and a lock.{d24f2895-651a-40cc-8e5c-c037b9994104} file. Upon logging in again, their profile isn't loaded, but another one of these folders is created (and deleted again after logging off). No notification pops up saying it loaded a temporary windows profile and the eventlog seems fine, a persona entry says it loaded 2 files. When i delete or rename this hidden folder, a new profile is created. I've had to recover around 5 profiles from backup... I can't figure out why this is happening. NTFS rights are correct.
After analyzing the log files after a log in with an affected profile (could only get the ones after a log in, as i can't recreate the error above) i found the following:

How to force View 5 desktops to use hp universal or tp output gateway ps driver?
If in a view desktop I change the driver to TP Output Gateway PS or HP Universal Printing printing from the application works fine but if I leave it at the default TP Output Gateway (notice PS) printing fails. Is there a way to set up the parent image to always use one of these as the default TP Output Gateway PS or HP Universal Printing?
