Is it possible to upgrade from 5.1.3 build-1007228 directly to 6.0? Or do we have to go to an intermediate version first?

Error cause by Scanner redirection in FP 6.0.2
I have a new desktop (Windows 8.1 x64) installed with View Agent 6.0.2 with scanner redirection feature enabled. When I try to start Google Chrome, the application will not start. In the eventlog, I get the following error:
Application error: faulting application name ftnlsv.exe
The ftnlsv.exe is from the View Agent and take cares of the Scanner redirection. When I uninstall View Agent, Chrome starts. Anyone else having issues with this new feature installed (even if it is not used).

Horizon View 3.2.0 Client Linux client timezone incorrect
Greetings,
I'm having an issue where VMWare Horizon View Client 3.2.0 (installed via install script onto ArchLinux, with all the necessary 32 libs). Everything works great, except every time I log on the timezone in Windows 7 VM defaults to Beijing, China. This does not happen to me with Horizon View 3.2.0 (or older) for Windows.
I have run older versions, as well as VMWare View Client, all of them do this. So, this got me thinking; is there a file this software looks at to determine the timezone to use? What does it need to match my local time zone?

MS Office 2010 is crashing when using "save as"
Sometime a user with a VM complains about the issue that Office is crashing when he uses "save as".
Only thing that is solving the issue is to reboot the VM, than issue is gone but not for ever.
Also to set "disable_timezone_snychronization" to "true" in registry helps sometimes.
Sometime we had to remove this key to get rid off this issue.
have some same issues ? and how can we solve this ?

Restrict access to the pool remotely

I have vmware view pools I need to restrict some of the users from connecting to the pools remote "throught the security servers" but they can still work locally through the connections servers. is thier any option for this ?

Persona profiles getting deleted
I have an interesting issue which is very random, users are complaining their profiles are getting deleted. Upon opening the users directory in the repository we typically find the only thing in there is the folder {d24f2895-651a-40cc-8e5c-c037b9994104}, which from what I understand is the folder which is created for the vss snapshot when replicating the changes. There are some instances where there is nothing at all but that is less frequent. We have multiple pools in which this occurs, and we have not been able to replicate the issue using test accounts because it is just so random. A case is open but no progress has been made at this time. There is no antivirus on the repo, we are running trend deep security on the desktops and have attempted to disable it as a test but this still popped up. All pools are linked clones with refresh immediately on log off configured. Permissions have been verified according to documentation. We do use the redirection feature for My docs, music, pictures, videos to other file servers but that appears to be functioning properly. Our desktops are windows 7 sp1, we recently recomposed after re-running and verifying the optimization scripts and all services are set properly. I am not familiar enough with the actual process to "roll-up" the snapshot to narrow down where the issue may actually reside.

vmware view connection broker stop responding on port 443
Hi
time to time (mostly 4hr a part ) my connection broker port 443 goes down and it take 3min to come back up ,
at the time it happened i see this errors on View log

did any one else have such issue before ?

We are using View 5.3.1 and we have 2 connection broker (active and passive setup ) , for health check and load balancing we using F5
F5 version is 11.4.1

MS Windows 10 Tech Preview Build 9926 - start menu will no longer display
Hello!
I've been experimenting with Microsoft's Windows 10 Tech preview in my Horizon View 6.0.1 environment.
Up until build 9926 it had been working great.
Now that I've installed the latest build, 9926, the start menu doesn't display.
Anyone encounter this before, any suggestions?
I've tried an upgrade to 9926 and a fresh install of 9926 and the results appear to be the same.

Rebooting replica server, resets client connections
I had an issue with my View 5.3 replica server. Users were complaining that the server was taking along time to authenticate BUT once logged in, everything seemed to work normally. On my replica server, I do not have the PCoIP gateway checked, I do have the HTTP secure tunnel checked though. When I rebooted my replica server, all users connected via that replica got a message "Error reading from tunnel HTTP socket: Connection reset by peer". I was under the impression that if the PCoIP wasn't checked, it was just nailing up the connection then getting out of the way. I thought I confirmed this with wireshark in the past but this doesn't seem to be the case. Can anyone elaborate on what I am missing here?

Citrix Image Pixilation and Session Freezing inside of VMware View 6.0.1 VDI
Hello All, I am quite new to VMware View and looking for some assistance with an issue we are currently experience within our VDI. Currently when users that haven’t been migrated into a VDI are using Citrix they are working business as usual. Once in a VDI sessions and they launch their Citrix sessions onto a Presentation Server 4.5 on 2003 users are experiencing issues with their Citrix session window either freezing or experiencing significant image pixilation issues. Is anyone currently experiencing this issue or can point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance! Sean

vmware horizon 3.0 - Setup cannot continue. Microsoft runtime DLL installer failed to complete installation

I'm trying to install vmware Horizon Client v 3.2. I'm under Windows 7. I cannot complete the install. I search over and over on the web and didn't find a solution. I tried :

I also removed "Microsoft Visuall C++ 2008 redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.4148"
I run some registry cleaner. No success. I still have the same error.
I'm cluless...

Some View VMs not getting DHCP unless Re-add NIC
We have a client with about 70 VMs. We're using View 5.1. Last week, they had a bad electrical storm that did some damage to other parts of the network. At some point during the storm, they lost power, power was down overnight, backup batteries eventually ran out, and some of our VM servers didn't shut down gracefully (i.e., they crashed).
Ever since we got them back up, we've been having some strange issues with the VMs and their virtual NICs. Every now and then (roughly a couple times an hour at random), the View Console will suddenly show about half of the VMs as "Agent Unreachable." After a few minutes, they'll all be back to normal. We rebuilt a couple of the pools last night to see if that would resolve anything, but during the rebuild, a couple of the machines showed "Error" and a handful showed "Agent Unreachable" again. We discovered that to resolve this, we had to manually log into each of the affected machines and each "Disable" and "Enable" the virtual NICs (these are WinXP SP3 VMs) or remove the NIC from the VM and re-add it. Removing and re-adding has the effect of then getting a completely new lease since the re-added NIC has a different MAC address, which isn't cool.
I was thinking we'd re-install the Connection server, Composer and vCenter tonight and maybe rebuild all the pools with a fresh snapshot, so I was updating the master template we use for all the VMs (they're linked clones). But I noticed whenever I reboot the master image, it comes up with a self-assigned IP address, and I have to either disable/enable or remove/re-add the NIC.
It may be that there's something else going on on the network, but DHCP is working for all the other physical workstations (about 100 of them), and it's only the virtuals that are having the issue.
I've tried rebooting everything (vCenter server, Connection server, will try rebooting DC tonight). I've also tried giving a static IP to the VMs when they're having the trouble, but they can't ping anywhere except their own address.
Any ideas? We're basically at the point where we start reinstalling everything, which isn't the most elegant solution.

USB Forwarding from OS X to Windows 7
Hi there,
I have a problem with the following setup. I'm using a Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) with an installed VMware View 1.7 (also tried VMware Horizon Client 3.2.0) to connect to a remote Windows 7 via PCoIP protocol. I don't have access to the Windows 7 VM and the admins there aren't a big help with the Mac OS X client.
Not long ago I could easily forward my USB printer to the Windows 7 machine and everything worked flawlessly. Then, I think it was after the upgrade to OS X 10.9.5 (around September 17, 2014) the USB forwarding stopped working. Every time I connect to the Windows 7 machine I only get the error that USB forwarding didn't succeed.
A look into the system.log showed no problems. I also checked the permissions of the filesystem root / as this seemed to be a problem for many users after a system upgrade - but they where fine. Only the USB arbitrator logs showed some difference. Old logs showed all USB devices (Apple Cam, Printer, etc) whereas new logs don't list the devices.
Is there a way to debug why the USB arbitrator doesn't seem to find the connected devices? Maybe some kind of command line parameter to get a list of detected devices or an error code. From time to time it seems to get the devices as a log from January 5, 2015 shows.

reconnection slow with Zenworks 11.24
Horizon View 5.1 + Windows 7 + Zenworks 11.24.
The first time connection is in normal speed. But when I disconnect and try reconnecting, I can reconnect to a vm without Zenworks agent in 8 seconds. On VMs with Zenwork agent, I get a black screen for 10-12seconds when reconnecting. I am working in a hospital and the speed of reconnection is extremely important. Any ideas?

Black screen using snipping tool
Hi all
We've just migrated some desktop from w7 to windows 2008r2. Some users have got problem with snipping tool, when users capture the screen the desktop goes black and the only solution is reset or restart it from a remote host.
Our infrastructure is
vSphere 5.5
Horinzon view 6.0.1
Desktop Windows 2008r2 sp1
Some advice?

IPv6 activated after recompose

in the master IPv6 is disabled.
