With an EUC Access Point, is it possible to turn off Web Access (prevent connections)...
e.g. No service at https://<euc host name>/portal/webclient/index.html#/
...while still permitting connections from clients using standard Horizon View Clients? (Windows, Android etc.)
Or are both eggs in one EUC-basket, so to speak?
So, we are merging with a company. They have 200 of these EVGA 124-IP-PD02 devices and they have an older VIEW environment, like a 5 or 5.5 or something in there. Since this merger will take some time, we decided we would spin up a view environment and just point their old devices to our new VIEW environment and they would have desktops here in our environment. We spun a new 7.0 environment and tested it and it's working great! However, we found out that these older devices are not supported on the newer VIEW versions.
We also read some online and heard that there are work arounds for this. Some registry edits, etc...
Can someone help me with this? Does anyone have these older devices working in VIEW 7? Can someone tell me definitively that there is a work around? Can someone tell me where I can read up on the work around if there is one?

On a Horizon View 7.0.3 infrastructure when I try to deploy a Linked Clones Pool (win10 or win7) I find allways this problem. "View Composer DiskFault: Disk customization failed due to an internal error".

Having an issue browsing my Persistent disk data-stores in virtual center and web v.center. Takes at least 10 to 20 mins to come up depending on pool size. All other data-stores come up with no issues. I believe this is also causing problems within view administrator with removing machines and migrating to new host cluster. Anyone see this? Fixes? If I browse the data-stores direct from a host through putty or winscp they I can see the persistent data-stores with no issues at all, it is just via v.center.

Hi, we currently run a View 5.1.3 environment with Windows 7 floating non-persistent desktops and manage profiles using View Persona. We are moving to a new View Horizon 7 environment and have migrated the existing gold master Windows 7 image.
The only changes that have been made to the gold master in the new View 7 environment are the upgrading of VMware tools View Agent to 7.0.1.3989057.
Now when I log onto the new desktop floating pool on Horizon 7, Horizon persona isn't synchronising the desktop background from the persona repository (existing IBM CIFS share) to the local profile and hence the desktop is displayed as a black background.
If I try set the background to a jpeg file e.g. Windows harmony, I can see the file TranscodedWallpaper.jpg being saved to \\persona\share\username.V2\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes and it displays on the current floating desktop correctly.
However at the next logon to a floating desktop this file isn't saved back to the local profile i.e. %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes and hence the background is black.
If I log onto the gold master image directly via VMware as a user, the desktop background shows correctly, so it looks to be a persona issue.
The following are snippets from the VMWVvp.txt log relating to TranscodedWallpaper.jpg - the errors I can see are 0x80070002
Has anyone experienced this issue and know how to get around it?

We have just created a new pool of linked clones. The master image is Windows 10 LTSB 2016 and we have a strange issue whereby the RemoteRegistry Service is disabled on the linked clones.
I have checked the Master image and the Remote Registry Service is set to Automatic (Triggered Start) so I shut it down, created a snapshot and recomposed the pool.
when I log into a virtual desktop and check the services the Remote Registry Service is Disabled.
I did find that people have discovered the remote registry service does stop after 10 min but have applied the following reg key to the master image to stop this.

3 weeks ago i upraded my Horizon View infrastructure from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3
We have several desktop pool with Windows 7 and now an other one for testing Windows 10 (1607)
We have a problem with the Windows 10 Start menu (it doesn't appears when we click on it) not always but often.
This problem seems to be known with Windows 10 without considering virtualization
Our goldimage was optimized with VMware OSOT, and other standard recommandations like we made it with Windows 7.
We use linked clone in non-persistent mode with Vmware Persona. (share cifs on NAS,)
Since 2 years, everything works fine with Windows 7, all dedicated GPOs for Vmware View 7.0.3 are updated for the dedicated OU for W10 pool desktop.
In the last ticket (closed now), Support said us this problem will be fixed in the next release (7.0.3) but the problem is still there.
I just recreate a SR to VMware support,

Can anyone tell me why this could be happening? I am not getting much progress from support, the case has been opened since the 20th of December.
It happens during login when the vm transitions to full screen both monitors. VMware Tools and View Agent were installed in proper order.

User ericn started View client and attempted to log into floating linked clone pool Win10 at 7:49:52
Connection server allocated machine "w10-002"
User sees windows login screen briefly (2 seconds) while resolution of vm changes to match client. Then the vm screen freezes.
User restarts View client multiple times and attempts to reconnect to pool but receives message that either vm is not available or no vms in pool are available.
Admin can not rdp into vm
Admin can not view vm in console
Admin can not gracefully restart vm
After rebooting vm, I logged into it and gathered the log bundle.

So I think thinprint send to client preview and set print properties.
Could you tell me how to set default advanced print option from "Print directory" to "Print preview" ?

We are currently trying to supply linked clone desktops for our Developers.
They have come to me with a problem that they cannot leave their VDI to compile their solution overnight.
It seems that when they reconnect after some time while visual studio is still open it just crashes when they get in their VDI.
Anybody had this issue as well ?
FYI we are talking about Visual Studio 2013 on Win10 machines.
My view 7.0.1 environment has been good for a while but recently stuff has been happening. currently have a case open with support related to No Desktops available when in fact there are plenty. I do however have a small work-a-round for that. Since that issue i've been doing a lot of recompose on my pools and now have another odd things happening when i recompose. During the recompose of a desktop, or 20, they seem to get stuck in the "shutdown" state for about 5 to 10 minutes everytme the desktop needs to reboot. It eventually does recompose but it takes forever. Anyone ever see an issue like this? Any input or comments are welcome. thanks.

We have an automated pool of 150 desktops which get refreshed on logoff OR after being disconnected for >60 minutes. I've noticed that we have been gradually getting more and more "Agent Unreachable" status's for our VDI desktops over a period of 4 - 6 hours until I go in, remove the VM's from disk and let provisioning re-provision the VM's to reset them. Doing a desktop reset does not fix the issue. I have made sure that the VM's are receiving IP addresses from DHCP and they are. We are not running out of addresses since these 150 desktops have 250 IP addresses in the DHCP scope with 15 minute lease times.
We are running VMware View 5.2. If any more information is needed, just ask.

Hi there,
I'm in the process of building a new Horizon View environment, based on Horizon View 7, to replace our existing Horizon 5.3 environment. I went down this route, with a new dedicated VDI instance of vCenter Server and new Connection Servers, Security Servers etc, so that I could upgrade the Server OS to 2012 R2 across the board and also perform the project alongside the existing environment with little to no user disruption.
My quandary is that since starting this build vSphere 6.5 has now been released, which Horizon 7 now supports, along with the move to the vCenter Server Appliance over the Windows based vCenter Server. I previously deployed vCenter 6.0 as a Windows Server with Composer co-installed, but I'm wondering now whether it would be better, as VMware are pushing the VCSA as the way to go going forward, to go with a 6.5 VCSA with a separate Windows Server for Composer. What are peoples thoughts here?

Any suggestions on how I can enable monitor spanning across two monitors in PCOIP and/or BLAST? I have followed the KB article online that mentions to set your monitors to 4 and set the resolution to the highest, however, that does not work. We currently have a GPO in place for one pool that allows this, however, I don't see this option on the PCOIP or BLAST GPO ADM files.
Any suggestions would be great.

I have been struggling to find an answer to this without having to open up a ticket. Is there any way to configure PCOIP and/or BLAST to allow the copying and pasting of files (.doc, .pdf, .txt, etc) between the local machine and the Virtual Machine?
I have a VMware View Problem. When i connect to a View Session using HTML5 i have an invisible mouse. If i disconnect and reconnect immediately, the mouse appears and works fine. If i log off and wait a few minutes the problem reappears.
The desktops is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. It appears that the problem presents on any browser. VMware Tools version is 10.0.6 build 3560309. VMware View Agent is 7.0.2.4368292.
Any help on this would be really appreciated.

We have production machines that run three shifts seven days a week. Up until now we have had the forcibly disconnect setting set so that they never disconnect. After upgrading to Horizon 6 they now disconnect approx. every 20 hours even when set to Never in Global Settings. Is there a work around that anyone here is aware of?

Aber beim lesen mit dem Stift "flacker" das licht und ein einlesen der Daten ist nicht möglich.
Wir haben alles mit Zero Clients und Dynamischen Pools installiert, eventuell hat jemand da draussen Erfahrung und kann uns einen Typ geben.
